Michael Beutler
Pecafil is named after the bright yellow, biodegradable building material which Michael Beutler used for a series of outdoor sculptures in the city of Frankfurt am Main. At stake in most of the German artist’s work is an experimental sculpture process where basic materials – wood, plaster, or glass – are used to analyze the standardization of common goods. His temporary, playful structures and forms constitute “a serious continuation of 20th century sculpture and architecture traditions and can function as almost pedagogical in relation to traditional public art. Seldom have attitudes from art history and the amateur carpenter been so interwoven”. Maria Lind

Project in the quadrant Documentation

P in the Q no.1 is finished.  A lot of the documentation in the morning was done with black and white photography. Partly because of personal interest but also because of the loss of batteries. Looking at these photos I feel that we again need to make the reference to the Junk playgrounds of the 1950s, 60s, although this workshop was concerned with the process of play and the possibility of layering within the space.

Medium is a creative studio based in Stockholm producing projects related to public space, architecture and visual culture. Projects by Medium often focus on the context of our everyday lives, the commonplace things that often go unnoticed. Medium is run by Jake Ford, Martin Frostner and Lisa Olausson. The studio was established to formalise a series of projects from the last six years. We work within an international network from visual arts, communication design, architecture and product design.

The Quadrant itself evolves on a day to day basis.
Geletin are the artist who created “Tantamounter 24/7”- like a huge xerox copy machine, only bigger, more complex and more clever. Inside there are some completely hardwired intense individuals operating day and night recreating peoples possesions and objects. These are some of the people with there orignal object and there Geletin recreations.

'beautiful katamari' is a computor game that involes rolling a ball around picking stuff up on your way. the ball starts off small picking up dice and coins then as it gets bigger chairs then people then cars then buildings then land then countries then planets then the world then stars and the galaxy etc.
the game shows a good example of process and evolution play.
