Michael BeutlerPecafil is named after the bright yellow, biodegradable building material which Michael Beutler used for a series of outdoor sculptures in the city of Frankfurt am Main. At stake in most of the German artist’s work is an experimental sculpture process where basic materials – wood, plaster, or glass – are used to analyze the standardization of common goods. Project in the quadrant Documentation

P in the Q no.1 is finished. A lot of the documentation in the morning was done with black and white photography. Partly because of personal interest but also because of the loss of batteries. Looking at these photos I feel that we again need to make the reference to the Junk playgrounds of the 1950s, 60s, although this workshop was concerned with the process of play and the possibility of layering within the space.Tuesday, 9 December 2008

Medium is a creative studio based in Stockholm producing projects related to public space, architecture and visual culture. Projects by Medium often focus on the context of our everyday lives, the commonplace things that often go unnoticed. Medium is run by Jake Ford, Martin Frostner and Lisa Olausson. The studio was established to formalise a series of projects from the last six years. We work within an international network from visual arts, communication design, architecture and product design.
